PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem in which leakage of the noise in an engine room cannot be avoided and improvement of the aerodynamic characteristic and reduction of the noise cannot be achieved even though provision of an opening in the lower side of the engine room is effective for discharging the hot air in the engine room.SOLUTION: An engine room lower structure includes: an engine undercover which covers at least a space from a bumper to an engine lower surface between the front bumper and the suspension member rear end; and an opening which communicates with the engine room provided on the immediately rear portion of the engine undercover. The engine undercover includes grooves in the vehicle cross direction respectively on the upper surface and the lower surface. The groove has the width gradually narrowing toward the rear side, and has the depth equal to or less than 1/3 of the dimension from the road surface to the bumper lower end excluding the front portion. The engine room lower structure effectively discharges the hot air in the engine room and suppresses the noise.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1

    【課題】エンジンルーム内の熱気を排出するには、エンジンルーム下方に開口を設けるのが効果的であるが、エンジンルーム内の騒音の漏出が避けられない。結果、空力特性の向上と騒音低下を両立させることができないという課題があった。【解決手段】エンジンルーム下方構造であって、前方バンパーからサスペンションメンバー後端までの間を、少なくともバンパーからエンジン下面を覆うエンジンアンダーカバーと、前記エンジンアンダーカバーの後端直後に設けられた前記エンジンルームと連通する開口部を有し、前記エンジンアンダーカバーは、上面と下面それぞれに、車両前後方向に溝が設けられ、前記溝は、後方に向かって漸次幅狭となり、前方部を除き、路面からバンパー下端までの寸法の1/3以下の深さを有することを特徴とするエンジンルーム下方構造は、エンジンルーム内の熱気を効果的に排出し、騒音を抑制する効果も奏する。【選択図】図1
