PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of easily and accurately evaluating the braking performance of a tire in a vehicle equipped with an ABS.SOLUTION: A method of evaluating the braking performance of a tire according to the present invention includes the steps of: (A1) running a reference tire 4 with a traveling tester 2 and measuring a relationship between a sliding speed and a frictional coefficient Bμat a predetermined traveling speed Vc; (A2) mounting the reference tire 4 on a vehicle equipped with an ABS, running the vehicle and measuring the relationship between the sliding speed and a frictional coefficient Bμat the traveling speed Vc; (A3) obtaining a correlation between the frictional coefficient Bμand the frictional coefficient Bμ; (A4) running the test tire on the traveling tester 2 and measuring a relationship between the sliding speed and a frictional coefficient μat the traveling speed Vc; and (A5) converting the relationship between the sliding speed and the frictional coefficient μinto the relationship between the sliding speed and a frictional coefficient μof the vehicle equipped with the ABS of the test tire.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1

    【課題】ABSを搭載車両でのタイヤの制動性能を簡易に精度よく評価する方法の提供。【解決手段】本発明に係るタイヤの制動性能評価方法は、(A1)基準タイヤ4を走行試験機2で走行させて、所定の走行速度Vcでの滑り速度と摩擦係数BμDRUMとの関係を計測する工程、(A2)上記基準タイヤ4をABSを搭載した車両に装着しこの車両を走行させて、上記走行速度Vcでの滑り速度と摩擦係数BμABSとの関係を計測する工程、(A3)上記摩擦係数BμDRUMと、上記摩擦係数BμABSとの相関を求める工程、(A4)試験タイヤを走行試験機2で走行させて、上記走行速度Vcでの滑り速度と摩擦係数μDRUMとの関係を計測する工程、及び(A5)上記滑り速度と摩擦係数μDRUMとの関係を、上記試験タイヤのABSを搭載した上記車両における滑り速度と摩擦係数μABSとの関係に変換する工程を含む。【選択図】図1
