PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve adhesion to a rubber free from Co salt without deterioration of productivity or wire drawability, and also prevent degradation of adhesive strength with time.SOLUTION: A plated steel wire has a Cu coat plating layer that is on a steel wire and coats the steel wire, and an alloy plating layer that is on the Cu coat plating layer and is composed of an alloy of at least one element selected from the element group consisting of Fe, Co, Cr, Nb, V and Mo, and Zn.
