PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a malfunction detection device for a brake stroke sensor, the device being able to accurately detect not only sticking of the brake stroke sensor but also an abnormal state of a characteristic thereof, without requiring a complex logic.SOLUTION: When a brake pedal 5 is depressed (Yes in S1), an output voltage A of a brake stroke sensor 12 is read at ON timing of a stop lamp switch 13 (S2, 3), and then output voltage B of the brake stroke sensor 12 is read at ON timing of a cruise control switch 14 (S4, 5). In a case where a difference ΔAB between the output voltages A, B is 0, a stick determination is made for the brake stroke sensor 12 (S6, 7). In a case where the difference ΔAB falls out of a normal range, a determination of an abnormal state of a characteristic is made for the brake stroke sensor 12 (S9, 10).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4

    【課題】ブレーキストロークセンサの固着のみならず特性異常についても、複雑なロジックを要することなく正確に検出できるブレーキストロークセンサの故障検出装置を提供する。【解決手段】ブレーキペダル5が踏込み操作されると(S1がYes)、ストップランプスイッチ13のONタイミングでのブレーキストロークセンサ12の出力電圧Aを読み込み(S2,3)、次いでクルーズコントロールスイッチ14のONタイミングでのブレーキストロークセンサ12の出力電圧Bを読み込む(S4,5)。出力電圧A,Bの差ΔABが0の場合にはブレーキストロークセンサ12の固着判定を下し(S6,7)、差ΔABが正常範囲を逸脱している場合にはブレーキストロークセンサ12の特性異常判定を下す(S9,10)。【選択図】図4
