PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an own vehicle position estimation device capable of estimating a highly accurate own vehicle position by utilizing map data.SOLUTION: A vehicle-mounted device detects point group data representing a shape of a feature existing around a vehicle based on output of a rider. Moreover, the vehicle-mounted device refers to a feature DB21 and generates polygon data indicating the shape of the feature recognized from the outline own vehicle position based on output of a GPS receiver or the like. Then, the vehicle-mounted device estimates a highly accurate own vehicle position based on the point group data and the polygon data.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4

    【課題】地図データを利用することで高精度な自車位置を推定することが可能な自車位置推定装置を提供する。【解決手段】車載機は、ライダの出力に基づき、車両の周囲に存在する地物の形状を示す点群データを検出する。また、車載機は、地物DB21を参照し、GPS受信機等の出力に基づく概略自車位置から認識される地物の形状を示すポリゴンデータを生成する。そして、車載機は、上述の点群データとポリゴンデータとに基づいて、高精度自車位置を推定する。【選択図】図4
