PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a front pillar structure capable of suppressing an increase in weight of a front pillar while ensuring the rigidity of the front pillar against a load input upon occurrence of a head-on collision of a vehicle.SOLUTION: A plate thickness of a bent part 16H connecting an outer wall part 16B with a front wall part 16A is set to be thicker than a plate thickness of a bent part 16I connecting the outer wall part 16B with a rear side wall part 16C. Accordingly, a wall thickness of a portion whose deformation volume caused by a load input upon occurrence of a head-on collision of a vehicle 10 in a pillar outer 16 is relatively small is thickened, and thus a portion on which the highest stress is concentrated by the load in the pillar outer 16 can be reinforced without the necessity for increasing the weight of a front pillar 14.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1

    【課題】車両の前面衝突で入力される荷重に対するフロントピラーの剛性を確保しつつ、フロントピラーの重量の増加の抑制を図ることができるフロントピラー構造を得る。【解決手段】外側壁部16Bと後側壁部16Cとを繋ぐ湾曲部16Iの板厚よりも外側壁部16Bと前側壁部16Aとを繋ぐ湾曲部16Hの板厚の方が厚く設定されている。このため、ピラーアウタ16において車両10の前面衝突で入力される荷重による変形量が比較的小さい部分の肉厚を薄くし、その分当該ピラーアウタ16において当該荷重によって最も応力が集中する部分を、フロントピラー14の重量を増加させることなく補強することができる。【選択図】図1
