PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly deal with a diagnosis result by diagnosing a short-circuit failure of an inverter FET without increasing cost.SOLUTION: An electronic control device comprises: an FET short-circuit detection part 110 which detects a short-circuit failure and outputs an error notification on the basis of a divided voltage that is divided by a resistor voltage divider circuit 120 for diagnosis; and a detection part failure diagnosis function for detecting a failure in the FET short-circuit detection part 110. The FET short-circuit detection part 110 consists of: an SPI communication circuit; a threshold setting part; a comparison part; an AND circuit; a filter which inputs a setting change signal from the SPI communication circuit and output of the AND circuit and discriminates continuation; and an error logic circuit. The detection part failure diagnosis function diagnoses a failure in the FET short-circuit detection part 110 in startup. When a failure in the FET short-circuit detection part 110 is detected, upper and lower stage FETs are turned off and if a failure in the FET short-circuit detection part 110 is not detected, short-circuit failures in the upper and lower stage FETs are diagnosed.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
