PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device of a vehicle which suppresses an influence caused by the resonance of an engine, and can properly perform a free run.SOLUTION: A control device of a vehicle comprises: an input shaft to which the input torque of an engine is transmitted; an output shaft for transmitting the torque to a drive wheel side; a planetary gear mechanism having a plurality of rotating elements including the rotating element which is connected to the input shaft; a clutch mechanism for selectively connecting the two rotating elements to each other; and a stepped change gear which has a brake mechanism for selectively connecting either of the rotating elements to a fixed part, blocks torque transmission between the input shaft and the output shaft, and can perform a free run at which the vehicle travels in a state that the drive of an engine is stopped. The torque transmission of the stepped change gear is blocked by releasing the clutch mechanism (step S103), and the drive of the engine is stopped in a state that the brake mechanism is engaged (step S104).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 10
