PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat exchanger and a manufacturing method of the heat exchanger capable of improving productivity.SOLUTION: A heater cover 10 includes a stacked body 12 of a plurality of tubes 122 and fins alternately stacked, and a pair of side plates 14, 16 disposed at both end portions in a stacking direction DRs of the stacked body 12. The pair of side plates 14, 16 are respectively provided with at least one deformation portions 144, 145, 164, 165 on regions corresponding to each other in the stacking direction DRs. The deformation portions 144, 145, 164, 165 are deformably constituted so that the deformation portions 144, 145, 164, 165 are partially projected to an outer side with respect to the stacked body 12 in a width direction DR of the stacked body 12 when a prescribed compression load is applied from the stacking direction DRs.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
