PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an outboard engine capable of restricting a large-sized formation of a cowl when a supercharger is installed at an inner space of the cowl and at the same time capable of preventing occurrence of interference between a hull and the cowl when the outboard engine is tilted up.SOLUTION: An outboard engine 100 comprises an engine 20 having several cylinders 31; a cowl 21 having an inner space 37 for storing the engine 20; a driving force transmittance shaft rotated around a rotating axis line extending in a vertical direction to transmit the driving force of the engine 20 to a propeller 24; a supercharger 4 driven under application of the driving force transmittance shaft; and a transmittance mechanism capable of transmitting the driving force of the driving force transmittance shaft to the supercharger 4. The upper end part of the supercharger 4 is arranged more below than the upper end part of a cylinder 31 which is located at the highest position of several cylinders 31 at the inner space 37 of the cowl 21.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1

    【課題】カウルの内部空間に過給機を配置した際に、カウルが大型化するのを抑制するとともに、船外機のチルトアップ時に、船体とカウルとの干渉を起き難くすることが可能な船外機を提供する。【解決手段】船外機100は、複数の気筒31を有するエンジン20と、エンジン20を収容する内部空間37を有するカウル21と、エンジン20の駆動力をプロペラ24に伝達するように、上下方向に延びる回転軸線回りに回転される駆動力伝達シャフトと、駆動力伝達シャフトを用いて駆動される過給機4と、駆動力伝達シャフトの駆動力を過給機4に伝達可能な伝達機構とを備える。過給機4の上端部は、カウル21の内部空間37における、複数の気筒31のうち最も上方に位置する気筒31の上端部よりも、下方に配置されている。【選択図】図1
