PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an object moving apparatus that realizes both a reduced thickness and higher strength.SOLUTION: An object moving apparatus D includes an object 1 to be moved, a cable 2, a drum member 3, a driving source 4, and a base member 5. The base member 5 includes a guide rail part 51 for guiding the object 1 to be moved in a lengthwise direction D1, a direction switching part 52a on an edge side, a direction switching part 52b on the other edge side, and a drum member storage part 53 storing the drum member 3. The guide rail part 51 includes an edge part E1 having an edge surface EF1 and a thick wall part 58 extending from the edge surface EF1 in the lengthwise direction at a prescribed thickness. The direction switching member 52a on the edge side is connected at a location where the thick wall part 58 is positioned on a line connecting the direction switching part 52a on the edge side with the direction switching part 52b on the other edge side, at the edge part E1.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
