PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a brake device which can improve the detection accuracy of a liquid leakage system irrespective of a magnitude of a leak amount, and a liquid leakage detection method of the brake device.SOLUTION: In a state that a pump 7 is driven, and a P-system communication valve 26P and an S-system communication valve 26S are alternately driven so as to be opened and closed, the liquid leakage of a brake fluid at each system is detected on the basis of primary system liquid pressure and secondary system liquid pressure which are detected by a primary system liquid pressure sensor 92P and a secondary system liquid pressure sensor 92S. After that, in a state that the P-Sys communication valve 26P and the S-system communication valve 26S are closed, the liquid leakage of the brake fluid in each system is detected on the basis of the primary system liquid pressure and the secondary system liquid pressure which are detected by the primary system liquid pressure sensor 92P and the secondary system liquid pressure sensor 92S.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
