PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a captive balloon capable of preventing the moored balloon from being exposed to strong wind.SOLUTION: A captive balloon 1 of the invention comprises: a balloon 10; a mooring cable 11, an end of which is joined to the balloon; a wind velocity sensor 15 for detecting a wind velocity received by the balloon 10; an altitude sensor 16 for measuring an altitude of the balloon 10; a winding device 12 for winding or unwinding the mooring cable 11; and a control unit for determining the altitude of the balloon 10 on the basis of wind velocity information related to the wind velocity detected by the wind velocity sensor 15, and controlling the winding device 12 so that the altitude measured by the altitude sensor 16 coincides with the determined altitude.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
