PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicular lighting unit control device capable of reliably suppressing an overshoot of a current which may occur at switching on/off a power to a vehicular lighting unit.SOLUTION: A vehicular lighting unit control device comprises: a constant current control part 11 controlling a constant current for a load current IL provided to a vehicular lighting unit including multiple LED modules LM1, LM2 serially connected by using a converter 5; an overcurrent detection part 7 detecting whether or not a control current controlled by the constant current control part has reached an overcurrent threshold value; a drive stop control part 13 controlling stop driving the converter 5 when an overcurrent is detected by the overcurrent detection part; a control part 15 for switching a number of series connections controlling switching the number of series connection of multiple LEDs according to a high beam switching signal; a threshold value switching control part 14 controlling switching the overcurrent threshold value to a second overcurrent threshold value, which is closer to the control current value side than a first overcurrent threshold value for a normal time, when the number of the series connections of the LEDs is switched by the control part for switching the number of series connections, and stopping the converter when the load current exceeds the second overcurrent threshold value.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1

    【課題】車両用灯具への通電をオン/オフ切替えするときに生じる電流のオーバーシュートを信頼性良く抑制できるようにした車両用灯具制御装置を提供する。【解決手段】定電流制御部11は、コンバータ5を用いて直列接続された複数のLEDモジュールLM1、LM2を含む車両用灯具に通電する負荷電流ILを定電流制御する。過電流検出部7は定電流制御部による制御電流が過電流閾値に達したか否かを検出する。駆動停止制御部13は過電流検出部により過電流が検出されたときにコンバータ5を駆動停止制御する。直列数切替制御部15はハイビーム切替信号に応じて複数のLEDの直列数を切替制御する。閾値切替制御部14は、直列数切替制御部によりLED直列数が切り替えられる際に過電流閾値を通常時の第1過電流閾値よりも制御電流値の側に近い第2過電流閾値に切替制御し、当該負荷電流が第2過電流閾値を超えた期間にコンバータを停止する。【選択図】図1
