PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress a selectable one-way clutch from being erroneously engaged when starting the engine.SOLUTION: In a vehicular drive apparatus configured such that a selectable one-way clutch functions as a lock mechanism, control includes: executing an engine revolution speed limit mode to temporarily maintain a revolution speed of an engine in a rising stage at a limit revolution speed A (step S3) in a case where an outside temperature is lower than a threshold when starting an engine start mode (Yes for step S2) when starting the engine (Yes for step S1); and executing a normal engine start mode (step S5) when engine start mode elapse time has passed a time B (No for step S4).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
