PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pedestrian collision detection device enabling an improved collision detection accuracy between a vehicle and a pedestrian and a more proper actuation of a pedestrian protection device.SOLUTION: A pedestrian collision detection device 1 is mounted on a front bumper 11 of a vehicle C, and is provided with: a sensor member 20 (a tube, a buffer member, and a pressure sensor) that detects shock which is received by the vehicle C when the vehicle C collides with a pedestrian; and a support member 24 that supports the sensor member 20 on a vehicle body side of the vehicle C. The front bumper 11 includes a bumper beam 12 arranged between a pair of side members 5. The tube covered with the buffer member is arranged at the front portion of the support member 24 (a bumper reinforcement 13, an extension portion 26, and a stay) such that a lower portion of the buffer member is positioned above an upper portion of the bumper beam 12 and a front portion of the buffer member is positioned behind a front portion of the bumper beam 12.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2

    【課題】車両と歩行者との衝突検知精度を向上させ、歩行者保護装置をより適正に作動させることを可能とする歩行者衝突検知装置を提供する。【解決手段】歩行者衝突検知装置1は、車両Cのフロントバンパー11に搭載され、歩行者との衝突時に車両Cが受ける衝撃を検知するセンサ部材20(チューブ、緩衝部材、圧力センサ)と、センサ部材20を車両Cの車体側に支持する支持部材24を備える。フロントバンパー11は、一対のサイドメンバ5の間に配置されたバンパービーム12を有する。緩衝部材で覆われたチューブは、緩衝部材の下部をバンパービーム12の上部よりも上方に、かつ緩衝部材の前部をバンパービーム12の前部よりも後方に位置付けて、支持部材24(バンパーリンフォース13、延長部26、ステー)の前部に配置される。【選択図】図2
