PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method capable of precisely estimating a load acting on a tire with few sensors.SOLUTION: There is provided a load weight estimation device 10 for estimating a load acting on a tire which comprises: an acceleration sensor 11; an acceleration waveform detection means 13 for detecting the acceleration waveform in the radial direction of the tire from an output of the acceleration sensor 11; differential acceleration waveform computation means 14 which differentiates the acceleration waveform to determine the differential acceleration waveform; peak position detection means 15 for detecting the peak position on the treading end side and the peak position on the kicking end side which appear in the differential acceleration waveform; grounding time ratio computation means 16 which calculates a grounding time and a rotation time from the peak positions and computes a grounding time ratio, which is the ratio between the calculated grounding time and the rotation time; and load weight estimation means 19 for estimating a load acting on the tire from a K-W map 18M which shows the relationships among the computed grounding time ratio, a grounding time ratio stored in storage means 18 and a load.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1

    【課題】少ないセンサでタイヤに作用する荷重を精度よく推定できる方法とその装置を提供する。【解決手段】タイヤに作用する荷重を推定する荷重量推定装置10を、加速度センサー11と、加速度センサー11の出力からタイヤ径方向加速度波形を検出する加速度波形検出手段13と、前記加速度波形を微分して微分加速度波形を求め微分加速度波形演算手段14と、微分加速度波形に出現する踏み込み端側のピーク位置と蹴り出し端側のピーク位置とを検出するピーク位置検出手段15と、前記ピーク位置から接地時間と回転時間と算出するとともに、算出された接地時間と回転時間との比である接地時間比を演算する接地時間比演算手段16と、演算された接地時間比と記憶手段18に記憶された接地時間比と荷重との関係を示すK−Wマップ18Mとから当該タイヤに作用する荷重を推定する荷重量推定手段19とから構成した。【選択図】図1
