PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle collision avoidance support system that is highly practical.SOLUTION: A vehicle collision avoidance support system is constituted to execute an automatic brake control and an automatic steering avoidance control, when the possibility that an own vehicle 10 collides with a front obstacle Ais high even after the execution of the automatic brake control. When a continuous object 60, extending obliquely forward relative to a front center line that is a straight line extending forward from the center of the own vehicle 10, is detected as a front obstacle, the system is constituted so as to execute the automatic steering avoidance control to avoid the own vehicle along the continuous front obstacle 60. The detection that the front obstacle 60 is the continuous object determines uniquely a direction in which the own vehicle 10 is made to steer, therefore, a processing load for determining an avoidance route can be reduced.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3

    【課題】実用性の高い車両用衝突回避支援システムを提供することを課題とする。【解決手段】自動制動制御を実行しても自車両10が前方障害物AFに衝突する可能性が高い場合に、自動制動制御とともに自動操舵回避制御を実行する構成のものであって、前方障害物として、自車両10の中心から前方に延びる直線である前方中心線に対して斜め前方に傾いて延びる連続的なもの60が検出された場合に、その連続的な前方障害物60に沿って自車両を回避させるように自動操舵回避制御を実行するように構成する。前方障害物60が連続的なものであることを検出することで、自車両10を操舵させる方向が一意に定まるため、回避経路決定の処理負荷を軽減することが可能である。【選択図】図3
