The present invention addresses the problem of providing a highly practical vehicle collision avoidance assistance system. When the possibility that the vehicle (10) collides with the front obstacle (AF) is still high even if the automatic braking control is executed, the automatic steering avoidance control is executed while the automatic braking control is executed. When a lateral object detection device detects a lateral moving object (AS) that moves in the same direction as the host vehicle (10) on the side of the host vehicle (10), and there is a possibility that the lateral moving object (AS) collides with the host vehicle when the automatic steering avoidance control is executed, execution of the automatic steering avoidance control is prohibited. As a result, it is possible to prevent the occurrence of a secondary disaster in which the host vehicle (10) encompasses the lateral moving object (AS) due to the execution of the automatic steering avoidance control.

    本发明的课题是提供车辆用防碰撞辅助系统,其实用性高。在即使执行自动制动控制,本车(10)与前方障碍物(AF)发生碰撞的可能性仍旧高的情况下,在执行自动制动控制的同时执行自动转向操纵避开控制,在利用侧方物检测装置检测到在本车(10)的侧方朝与与本车相同的方向移动的侧方移动物(AS)、且如果执行自动转向操纵避开控制则存在该侧方移动物(AS)与本车发生碰撞的可能性的情况下,禁止自动转向操纵避开控制的执行。能够防止因自动转向操纵避开控制的执行致使本车(10)牵连侧方移动物(AS)的次生灾害的产生。
