PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vessel propulsion device capable of preventing a propeller from idling regardless of the type of a clutch.SOLUTION: There is provided a vessel propulsion device for transmitting a power from an input shaft connected to a drive source to an output shaft through a gear mechanism. A gear attached to the input shaft or the output shaft, in the gear mechanism, is connected to the input shaft or the output shaft through a one-way clutch, while the one-way clutch acts when a rotary speed of the shaft or gear on the output shaft side is faster than a rotary speed of the shaft or gear on the input shaft side.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
