PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a traffic density measuring device that can acquire information on wheeled vehicle size without necessitating addition of equipment that would require a new installation space.SOLUTION: A scanned face 18 formed by an irradiator is inclined by an angle θs relative to the surface of a road 16. For this reason, not only the front but also the flanks of a vehicle 15 passing this scanned face 18 undergo three-dimensional distance detection by the inclined scanned face 18. By acquiring three-dimensional distances regarding the front and the flanks of the vehicle 15 and processing the detected distances by using a trigonometric function, not only the running speed V but also the width W, length L and height H of the vehicle 15 are calculated.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1

    【課題】新たな設置空間が必要となる機器の追加を招くことなく、車両の大きさに関する情報を取得する交通量計測装置を提供する。【解決手段】照射部が形成する走査面18は、道路16の路面に対して傾斜角度θsで傾斜している。そのため、この走査面18を通過する車両15は、傾斜した走査面18によって、正面だけでなく、側面についても三次元的に距離が検出される。車両15の正面および側面についての距離を三次元的に取得することにより、取得した検出距離について三角関数を用いて処理することにより、車両15の車速Vだけでなく、車幅W、車長Lおよび車高Hも算出される。【選択図】図1
