PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hybrid vehicle and a control method therefor for improving fuel economy by reducing engine friction, thus increasing the charge amount of a battery, while the vehicle travels with a fuel injection stopped and only a motor-generator regeneratively generating power.SOLUTION: During a travel with a fuel injection to an engine 10 stopped and a motor-generator 31 regeneratively generating power, a control apparatus 80 performs either one of control of opening a variable blade 64 of a variable-blade turbocharger 57, control of opening an EGR valve 53, and control of opening an exhaust valve 48 by a variable valve mechanism 65 in a compression process, or a combination of any two of the aforementioned controls, or all of the aforementioned controls.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
