PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic tire for a motor cycle which can early exert performance thereof when the tire is brand new and allows abrasion of the tire to be visually checked before the brand-new tire sufficiently exerts performance.SOLUTION: The pneumatic tire for a motor cycle comprises an annularly formed tread part. In the tread part are provided in a tire width direction shallow grooves whose width is between 0.1 and 2.0 mm and whose depth is between 0.1 and 2.0 mm, where cross sectional shapes of the shallow grooves in the tread part are different from a virtual cross sectional shape formed by an outline 4 of the tread part, a pair of groove walls 5 nearly perpendicular to the outline 4, and a groove bottom 6, nearly parallel to the outline 4, joining the pair of groove walls 5 to each other.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
