PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide improvement in a technique for observation of a space object by use of laser beam.SOLUTION: A space object observation system 1 comprises: laser equipment which is provided in the atmosphere, and is so configured as to eject irradiation laser beam 11a; a receiver which receives and observes reflection laser beam 11b generated due to reflection of the irradiation laser beam 11a by a space object 2; previous observation information acquisition means which acquires previous observation information 12a, 13a obtained by observation of the space object 2; and control means. The control means 25 calculates a space object estimation position area which is an area estimated that the space object 2 exists at a certain observation time on the basis of previous observation information 12a, 13a, and sets a widening angle of the irradiation laser beam 11a radiated onto the space object 2 at said observation time on the basis of the space object estimation position area.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2

    【課題】レーザ光を用いて宇宙物体を観測する技術の改良を提供する。【解決手段】宇宙物体観測システム1は、大気圏内に設けられた、照射レーザ光11aを出射するように構成されたレーザ装置と、照射レーザ光11aの宇宙物体2による反射によって生成された反射レーザ光11bを受光して観測する受光部と、宇宙物体2の観測によって得られた事前観測情報12a、13aを取得する事前観測情報取得手段と、制御手段とを具備する。制御手段25は、事前観測情報12a、13aに基づいて、ある観測時刻において宇宙物体2が位置すると推定される領域である宇宙物体推定位置領域を算出し、該観測時刻において宇宙物体2に照射される照射レーザ光11aの広がり角を宇宙物体推定位置領域に基づいて設定する。【選択図】図2
