PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hybrid vehicle and a control method therefor, which enable the prevention of a temperature rise of a battery reaching a deterioration-advancing temperature, advancing the deterioration of the battery, by decreasing power generated by a travel motor while maintaining brake force applied to a drive mechanism in a case where the temperature of the battery approaches the deterioration-advancing temperature, with the drive mechanism requiring brake force.SOLUTION: A hybrid vehicle includes: an inverter circuit 40 for increasing a core loss of a travel motor 3; and a hybrid ECU 22 for executing low-efficiency regeneration control for controlling the inverter circuit 40, in a case where a temperature of a battery 6 is equal to or higher than a predetermined set value, with a drive mechanism such as a propeller shaft requiring brake force, and decreasing power generated by the travel motor 3 so as to not allow the temperature of the battery 6 to reach a deterioration-advancing temperature, advancing the deterioration of the battery, while preventing the brake force applied to the drive mechanism from decreasing.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2

    【課題】バッテリーの温度が、バッテリーの劣化を進行させる劣化進行温度に近く、且つ駆動機構に制動力を付与する必要がある場合に、その駆動機構に付与される制動力を維持したまま、走行モータで発電される電力を小さくして、劣化進行温度に至るようなバッテリーの温度の上昇を防止することができるハイブリッド車両及びその制御方法を提供する。【解決手段】走行モータ3の鉄損を増大するインバータ回路40を備え、バッテリー6の温度が予め定めた設定値以上で、且つプロペラシャフトなどの駆動機構に制動力を付与する必要がある場合は、インバータ回路40を制御して、駆動機構に付与される制動力を低下させずに、バッテリー6の温度が、バッテリーの劣化を進行させる劣化進行温度にならないように走行モータ3で発電される電力を小さくする低効率回生制御を行うハイブリッドECU22を備えて構成される。【選択図】図2
