PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle periphery monitoring device and a vehicle periphery monitoring system capable of supporting a user to easily operate a vehicle avoiding an object located in the vicinity of a vehicle.SOLUTION: When the vehicle periphery monitoring device determines that there is an obstacle is located within a predetermined distance range, the vehicle periphery monitoring device calculates a prediction locus of the vehicle predicted from a piece of vehicle information to determine whether or not the obstacle is positioned on the prediction locus.
