PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a collision energy absorption device that has a high degree of freedom in shape and can be manufactured easily.SOLUTION: A collision energy absorption device of a railway vehicle comprises at least one outer plate constituting an outer cylinder having an axis line extending in a vehicle longitudinal direction, and at least one partition plate extending in the vehicle longitudinal direction in an interior space surrounded by the at least one outer plate, fixed to the outer plate, and partitioning the interior space. An end part of the partition plate in a direction orthogonal to the axis line is sandwiched by the outer plate so as to constitute the outer cylinder partially.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
