PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a driving and braking device of a wheel, which can suppress the size of the device in a radial direction and an axial direction even when an outer diameter of a projection part on a vehicle body center side of a wheel is large.SOLUTION: A driving and braking device of a wheel comprises: an electric motor 2 for driving, which is mounted on a wheel 11 of a wheel 1 in an in-wheel manner; a power transmission mechanism 3A which comprises an internal tooth gear 31 for output interposed between the wheel 11 and the electric motor 2 and connected to the wheel 11, and can change a rotational speed; a bearing 6 for rotatably supporting the wheel 11 on a vehicle body; and a brake mechanism 7 for applying a brake force to the wheel 11. The electric motor 2, the power transmission mechanism 3A, a hub 12 of the wheel 11 are arranged along an axle direction of the wheel 1 from a vehicle body center side IS to a vehicle body side OS in this order. The internal tooth gear 31 for output and the hub 12 are adjacent to each other along the axle direction. A connection member 5 for power-connecting an outer peripheral part of the internal tooth gear 31 for output to the hub 12 is provided. The bearing 6 and the brake mechanism 7 are arranged side by side on the outer peripheral side of the connection member 5 along the axle direction.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
