PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radar device, vehicle control system and radar device control method that can easily and accurately detect an angle in a vertical direction of targets.SOLUTION: A radar device comprises: an upward transmission unit; a downward transmission unit; a power detection unit; a power difference calculation unit; and an angle detection unit. The upward transmission unit is configured to transmit an upward transmission wave upward with respect to a preliminarily set reference axis, and the downward transmission unit is configured to transmit a downward transmission wave downward with respect to the preliminarily set reference axis. The power detection unit is configured to detect power of an upward reflection wave to be obtained by the upward transmission wave being reflected upon a target, and power of an upward reflection wave to be obtained by the downward transmission wave being reflected upon the target, and the power difference calculation unit is configured to calculate a power difference between the detected power of the upward reflection wave and the detected power of the downward reflection wave. The angle detection unit is configured to detect an angle with respect to the reference axis of the target on the basis of the calculated power difference.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1

    【課題】物標の垂直方向の角度を簡易に精度よく検出することのできるレーダ装置、車両制御システムおよびレーダ装置の制御方法を提供する。【解決手段】レーダ装置は、上方送信部と、下方送信部と、パワー検出部と、パワー差算出部と、角度検出部とを備える。上方送信部は、予め設定された基準軸に対して上方へ向けて上方送信波を送信する。下方送信部は、基準軸に対して下方へ向けて下方送信波を送信する。パワー検出部は、上方送信波が物標に反射して得られる上方反射波のパワー、および、下方送信波が物標に反射して得られる下方反射波のパワーを検出する。パワー差算出部は、検出された上方反射波のパワーと下方反射波のパワーとのパワー差を算出する。角度検出部は、算出されたパワー差に基づき、物標の基準軸に対する角度を検出する。【選択図】図1
