PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a driving assist controller that ensures safety by continuously making a user driving to change the advancing direction of a self vehicle aware of a high attention effect.SOLUTION: A processor 425p of an integrated ECU 425 constructs: behavior detection means for detecting a driving behavior of a user changing the advancing direction of a self vehicle 2; illumination initiating means for initiating illumination by an illuminating system 5, for an illumination area set ahead of the self vehicle 2 in environment, when a driving behavior changing an advancing direction is detected by the behavior detection means; obstacle detection means for detecting an obstacle estimated to be collided with the self vehicle 2 in the illumination area to be illuminated with the illumination system 5 by the illumination initiating means; and brightness change means for changing brightness for the illumination area to be illuminated with the illumination system 5 when the obstacle is detected by the obstacle detecting means.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
