PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel on-board measuring method of a train length for measuring the train length.SOLUTION: In a train length measurement system 1, the train length is calculated based on a travel distance of the train between a time t1 when a beginning vehicle 12 passes a feature point Q determined on a track R and a time t2 when the rearmost vehicle 14 passes the feature point Q. Passage determination of the feature point Q is performed based on a curvature P of a track part during passage, from yaw angular velocity ψ by an inertial sensor loaded on the vehicle and travel speed V of the train.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
