PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To assist a user in getting over a level difference.SOLUTION: When a movement in a direction of travel of a base body of a walking assisting vehicle is not detected based on output of a movement detection unit (13) for a predetermined time continuously, and active force working in the direction of travel is detected by an active force detection unit (12), a restriction unit (16) controls a drive unit (11) so that the movement of the base body is restricted. When the movement of the base body is restricted by the restriction unit, and an inclination of a predetermined angle is detected by an inclination detection unit (14), a release unit (17) controls the drive unit so that the base body moves in the direction of travel.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
