PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an elevator system which allows a user of a light vehicle to get on surely, and which improves an operation efficiency.SOLUTION: An elevator system comprises: vehicle entrance call registration reception means; general entrance call registration reception means; mode control means; operation direction control means; response control means; and operation control means. The vehicle entrance call registration reception means receives a vehicle entrance call. The general entrance call registration reception means receives a general entrance call. The mode control means alternately switches a car operation mode between the vehicle operation mode and general operation mode. The operation direction control means alternately switches a car operation direction between an ascending direction and a descending direction. The response control means makes the car respond to the vehicle entrance call which has not been responded, in the same direction with the operation direction during the vehicle operation mode, and makes the car respond to the general entrance call which has not been responded in the same direction with the operation direction during the general operation mode. The operation control means controls operation of the car on the basis of the operation direction or the like.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
