PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle periphery image display controller capable of suppressing occurrence of chipping in an area used for generation of a synthetic birds-eye image in a history image stored in a history memory, while shortening the processing time for storing an image, and reducing the memory size for storing an image.SOLUTION: A history image to be cut out from a recognition memory by a storage processing section has a size of the minimum rectangle or more, where the side 63a on the vehicle side, out of a pair of sides parallel with the vehicle width direction of the minimum rectangle has one end on the inner peripheral circle of the movement locus of a history area 81 which moves when a vehicle 2 turns right with a minimum radius of rotation, and the other end on the inner peripheral circle of the movement locus of the history area 81 which moves when the vehicle 2 turns left with a minimum radius of rotation. The length of the minimum rectangle in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle is the movement length of the history area occurring when the vehicle moves after an image corresponding to a birds-eye image cutting out the history image previous time is captured, before an image corresponding to a birds-eye image cutting out the history image this time is captured.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7

    【課題】履歴メモリに記憶されている履歴画像において合成鳥瞰画像の生成に用いるエリアに欠け生じることが抑制でき、かつ、画像を記憶する処理時間が短く、画像を記憶するためのメモリサイズを小さくできる車両周囲画像表示制御装置を提供する。【解決手段】記憶処理部が認識用メモリから切り出す履歴画像は、最小矩形以上の大きさであって、最小矩形の車幅方向に平行な一対の辺のうち車両側の辺63aは、一端が、車両2が最小回転半径で右旋回することで移動する履歴エリア81の移動軌跡の内周円上にあり、他端が、車両2が最小回転半径で左旋回することで移動する履歴エリア81の移動軌跡の内周円上にあり、最小矩形の車両前後方向長さは、前回、履歴画像を切り出した鳥瞰画像に対応する撮影画像が撮影されてから、今回、履歴画像を切り出す鳥瞰画像に対応する撮影画像が撮影されるまでに車両が移動したことにより生じる履歴エリアの移動長さである。【選択図】図7
