PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an outboard engine control device capable of improving fuel consumption performance of an outboard engine with a simple structure.SOLUTION: A control device of an outboard engine 10 comprising a variable pitch propeller which can adjust a pitch angle of a propeller being driven by an internal combustion engine and mounted on a ship body, comprises: throttle control means 501 for controlling a throttle open degree of the internal combustion engine according to an operation amount of a throttle lever 67; storage means 503 for storing relationship between ship body speed and a target pitch angle in which fuel consumption amount becomes minimum, in advance; ship body speed detection means 69 for detecting ship body speed; and pitch control means 502 for, based on the relationship stored in the storage means 503, controlling the pitch angle so as to become the target pitch angle corresponding to the ship body speed detected by the ship body speed detection means 69.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
