PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rope type platform safety fence which detects a change of tension of a rope suspended as the safety fence, at the same time, monitors movement circumstances such as access of a person and, in accordance with the movement circumferences, performs adjustment such that the tension of the rope for a protection fence gets to a proper value and reduces a load to a housing such as a support.SOLUTION: A rope-type platform safety fence monitors movement circumstances (access, etc.) of a person such as a passenger with a human detection sensor 27 and, in accordance with the movement circumstances, and adjusts tension of at least one line of rope 13 suspended along a platform edge of a station platform 12 into a proper value.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
