PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery protection device capable of suppressing malfunctions of a battery by checking the validity of a calculated value of an amount of battery charge and preventing the battery from being overcharged when the reliability of the calculated value is low.SOLUTION: An control SOC calculated by a battery ECU 22, a first estimated SOC estimated by a first estimation unit (30) based on an electric current between a motor (3) and a power converter (10), and a second estimated SOC estimated by a second estimation unit (31) based on an electric current between a battery (11) and the power converter (10) are transmitted to a protection control unit. The protection control unit (32) compares the control SOC to the two estimated SOCs and when the control SOC is lower than the two estimated SOCs by at least a predetermined amount, limits charging of the battery (11).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
