PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rear vehicle body structure of an automobile which can suppress an inner fall of a wheel house without increasing the number of members even if a damper support part is largely separated from a pillar part.SOLUTION: A rear vehicle body structure of an automobile has: a lower-side pillar part 21 which is extensionally arranged in a vertical direction at a front region rather than a damper support part 13x of a wheel house 13 at a vehicle inside face 13z; a vertical extension part 33 which is extensionally arranged in a vertical direction at a rear region rather than the damper support part 13x at the vehicle inside face 13z; and a reinforcing member 34 which connects a side sill 12 and the damper support part 13x. An upper end of the lower-side pillar part 21 is connected to a lower end of the upper-side pillar part 22 located at an upper part rather than the wheel house 13, a lower end is connected to a side frame 11 and a floor cross member 18, an upper end of the vertical extension part 33 is connected to the reinforcing member 34, a lower end is connected to the side frame 11, and an upper end of the upper-side pillar part 22 is connected to a roof reinforcement 32 via a roof side rail 31.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
【課題】ダンパ支持部がピラー部から大きく後方に離間する場合でも部材数を増やさずにホイールハウスの内倒れを抑制できる自動車の後部車体構造を提供する。【解決手段】ホイールハウス13の車内側面13zのダンパ支持部13xよりも前方部位に上下方向に延設される下側ピラー部21、上記車内側面13zのダンパ支持部13xよりも後方部位に上下方向に延設される上下延長部33、及びサイドパネル12とダンパ支持部13xとを連結する補強部材34を有し、下側ピラー部21の上端部がホイールハウス13より上方に位置する上側ピラー部22の下端部に連結され、下端部がサイドフレーム11及びフロアクロスメンバ18に連結され、上下延長部33の上端部が補強部材34に連結され、下端部がサイドフレーム11に連結され、上側ピラー部22の上端部がルーフサイドレール31を介してルーフレインフォースメント32に連結される。【選択図】図3
