PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a value of partial pressure of fuel gas at a fuel cell's anode electrode be an appropriate value.SOLUTION: A fuel cell system to be used for a fuel cell mounting vehicle comprises: a fuel cell; a fuel gas supply unit for supplying a fuel gas to the fuel cell; a fuel gas discharge unit for discharging a fuel exhaust gas from the fuel cell; and a control unit. The control unit, when operation of the fuel cell has finished, executes (a) discharge processing of discharging a fuel exhaust gas from the fuel cell to decrease pressure and (b) processing of supplying, after the discharge processing, a fuel gas to the fuel cell to increase partial pressure of fuel gas in the fuel cell.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
