PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an on-vehicle start-up auxiliary power unit without requiring a charge direction changeover switch between a main battery and an auxiliary battery.SOLUTION: The on-vehicle start-up auxiliary power unit includes control means 50 for connecting, from a vehicle main battery 3, to an auxiliary battery 1a through an accessory switch 2 or an ignition switch, a DC-DC converter 10, current detection means 60 and intermittent means 70, and for controlling the DC-DC converter, the current detection means and the intermittent means. The control means is configured to have a current direction determination function which detects a current direction relative to the auxiliary battery, so as to cut off the intermittent means when the auxiliary battery is being charged and the current direction flows out of the auxiliary battery.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
