PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rear wheel steering device capable of setting various output characteristics by the minimum of component change.SOLUTION: The rear wheel steering device for a vehicle includes: an electric motor 20 supported by a housing 10; a speed reduction mechanism 30 connected to an output shaft 21 of the electric motor, for decelerating output of the electric motor; and a linear motion mechanism 50 having a nut member 51 connected to the speed reduction mechanism, and a rod 52 threadedly engaged with the nut member and connected to at least one of first and second connection members 11, 12, for converting rotary motion of the nut member into linear motion of the rod. The speed reduction mechanism includes: a driving pulley 31 connected to the output shaft of the electric motor; a driven pulley 32 connected to the nut member, and supported by the housing rotatably around an axis of the rod; and a belt 33 stretched between the driving pulley and the driven pulley. The speed reduction mechanism decelerates the output of the electric motor and transmits the output to the linear motion mechanism.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
