PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle body structure of a saddle riding type vehicle which improves workability by avoiding welding at a narrow place while shortening a welding length, and can make favorable a yield of an upper plate-shaped member, and the welding-quality confirmation workability of a vehicle body frame front part.SOLUTION: Left and right main frames 14L, 14R (Fig. 14L is not illustrated) are connected to a head pipe 13 at front ends, and arranged so that left and right intervals are expanded as progressing toward a rear side, the left and right main frames 14L, 14R are connected to each other via an upper plate-shaped member 111, a front edge 111d of the upper plate-shaped member 111 is arranged while being separated to a rear part of the head pipe 13, and left and right ends of the upper plate-shaped member 111 are welded to the left and right main frames 14L, 14R, respectively.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 8
