PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance reliability and easiness of clamping of a steel plate, and perform conveyance, transfer, installation, and the like of the steel plate quickly, easily, and safely.SOLUTION: A steel plate transfer apparatus A for holding and transferring a steel plate C while being connected to a traveling body comprises at least: a connection part 1 connected to a tip of an arm B of the traveling body; a tilt frame part 3 having a bottom part 30 facing a surface C1 of the steel plate C in parallel; one or more tilt connection parts 4A to 4D for connecting the connection part 1 and the tilt frame part 3 so that the tilt frame part 3 is tilted with respect to the connection part 1; clamp parts 6A, 6B provided in the tilt frame part 3 so as to operate in directions to clamp both sides of the steel plate C and to release the clamping; and a power transmission part 8 for transmitting power from the traveling body to the clamp parts 6A, 6B as power to clamp and release clamping.
