PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To optimize an earthquake-time temporary restoration operation device by predicting oscillation amounts of long-length articles constituting an elevator at the occurrence of an earthquake, and raising a possibility of the automatic restoration of the earthquake-time temporary restoration device after automatic diagnosis operation.SOLUTION: In an elevator device which ascends or descends a car in a hoistway by winding or rewinding a rope linked with the car by a hoist, the elevator device comprises: an earthquake sensor which is arranged in the hoistway; and a long-length article oscillation amount determination device which determines oscillation amounts of long-length articles in the hoistway. When an earthquake is detected by the earthquake sensor, the long-length article oscillation amount determination device determines the oscillation amounts of the long-length articles on the basis of a long-length oscillation amount prediction map which predicts the oscillation amounts of the long-length articles in advance according to lengths of the long-length articles and a level of the earthquake.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
