PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic lighting system capable of improving lights-out feeling of a headlight when a vehicle exits a tunnel.SOLUTION: A third light-receiving unit 13 outputs a third intensity of light received from above a vehicle 60 before the vehicle 60 enters a tunnel 62 as a third intensity signal. A fourth light-receiving unit 14 outputs a fourth intensity of light received from front of the vehicle before the vehicle 60 enters the tunnel 62 as a fourth intensity signal. Furthermore, an estimation unit 16 receives the third intensity signal and the fourth intensity signal input thereto, and estimates an altitude of the sun 63 on the basis of the third intensity and the fourth intensity. A control circuit portion 21 acquires vehicle velocity data on the vehicle 60 from an external device, receives an estimated value of the altitude of the sun 63 input from the estimation unit 16, and turns off a headlight 40 at timing lagged behind timing at which a light intensity exceeds a lighting-up threshold.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
