PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to detect a position of a train with a position resolution shorter than a track circuit length.SOLUTION: A track circuit 2T' is formed by processing at least a portion of a conventional track circuit so that contact resistance values at the time when an approached train 3 is short-cut by an axle 31 differ from one another according to positions. Consequently, a residual voltage Vr fed to a train position detection device 41 represents a characteristic pattern according to a position and a speed of a train. The train position detection device 41 receives an input of a voltage value Vr between two rails of the track circuit 2T', estimates whether or not the train 3 exists at any position in the track circuit 2T' on the basis of variation of the voltage value Vr according to the position and the speed of the train, and outputs an estimated result as positional information.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3

    【課題】軌道回路長より短い位置分解能で列車の位置を検出する。【解決手段】軌道回路2T’は、進入した列車3の車軸31による短絡時の接触抵抗値が、その位置により異なる値となるように、従来の軌道回路の少なくとも一部を加工したものである。これにより、列車位置検出装置41に供給される残留電圧Vrは、列車位置と速度に応じた特徴的なパターンを示すようになる。列車位置検出装置41は、軌道回路2T’の2本の線路間の電圧値Vrの入力を受け、列車位置と速度に応じた電圧値Vrの変動に基づいて、軌道回路2T’内のいずれの位置に列車3が存在するかを推定し、推定結果を位置情報として出力する。【選択図】図3
