PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a structure which can prevent axial separation of inner and outer columns 14a, 15a in an assembled state so as to install components in a vehicle body without increasing the number of components.SOLUTION: An axially long, engaging long hole 26 is provided in a front upper part of an outer column 15a. An engaging piece 28 is integrally formed in a rear upper part of an inner column 14a, and the engaging piece 28 is advanced into the engaging long hole 26 allowing displacement along the engaging long hole 26. In a state of being installed in the vehicle body, relative displacement of the inner and outer columns 14a, 15a within a telescopic adjustment range is permitted on the basis of displacing the engaging piece 28 along the engaging long hole 26. In a state before installed in the vehicle body, axial separation of the inner and outer columns 14a, 15a can be prevented on the basis of the engagement of a front end edge of the engaging long hole 26 and the engaging piece 28.
【課題】部品点数の増大を伴う事なく、車体に組み付けるべく組み立てた状態で、インナ、アウタ両コラム14a、15aの軸方向の分離防止を図れる構造を実現する。【解決手段】前記アウタコラム15aの前部上部に軸方向に長い係合長孔26を設ける。前記インナコラム14aの後部上部に係合片28を一体に形成すると共に、この係合片28を前記係合長孔26内に、この係合長孔26に沿った変位可能に進入させる。車体に組み付けた状態では、前記係合片28を前記係合長孔26に沿って変位させる事に基づき、前記インナ、アウタ両コラム14a、15aがテレスコ調節範囲内で相対変位する事を許容する。車体に組み付ける以前の状態では、前記係合片28と前記係合長孔26の前端縁との係合に基づいて、前記インナ、アウタ両コラム14a、15aの軸方向の分離防止を図る。【選択図】図3
