PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a telescopic steering device having a structure in which, after assembling a front side assembly and a rear side assembly separately, work of inserting a spline shaft part into a spline hole can be performed while confirming a misalignment state of these holes visually.SOLUTION: A notch opening at a front end edge of an outer column is provided at an upper end part of a front end part of the outer column in a state of overlapping with an edge end part of an outer shaft in a radial direction. Thus, when performing insertion work, a misalignment state can be visually confirmed through the notch.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3

    【課題】前方側組立体と後方側組立体とを別々に組み立てた後、スプライン軸部をスプライン孔に挿入する作業を、これらの芯ずれの状態を目視で確認しながら行える構造のテレスコピック式ステアリング装置を提供する。【解決手段】アウタコラムの前端部の上端部に、このアウタコラムの前端縁に開口する切り欠きを、アウタシャフトの縁端部と径方向に重畳する状態で設ける。これにより、挿入する作業を行う際に、芯ずれの状態を、切り欠きを通じて目視で確認できるようにする。【選択図】図3
