PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To engage a selectable one-way clutch reliably and appropriately.SOLUTION: A vehicular power transmission mechanism control apparatus is capable of controlling a rotational speed of a first clutch member or second clutch member of a selectable one-way clutch by means of a motor, thereby generating a positive differential rotation that is a relative rotation in a direction of being regulated when the selectable one-way clutch is put to engagement and a negative differential rotation that is a relative rotation in a direction permitted when the selectable one-way clutch is put to engagement, respectively. In the apparatus, when the selectable one-way clutch is switched from a disengagement state to the engagement, a strut is allowed to protrude toward the second clutch member in the state of a differential rotation being kept negative temporarily, and a part of the strut is protruded toward the second clutch member so as to engage therewith, thus switching the selectable one-way clutch from the disengagement state to the engagement.

    【課題】セレクタブルワンウェイクラッチを確実かつ適切に係合させる。【解決手段】モータによりセレクタブルワンウェイクラッチの第1クラッチ部材もしくは第2クラッチ部材の回転速度を制御して、セレクタブルワンウェイクラッチを係合状態にする際に規制される方向の相対回転である正の差回転と、セレクタブルワンウェイクラッチを係合状態にする際に許容される方向の相対回転である負の差回転とをそれぞれ生じさせることが可能な車両用動力伝達機構の制御装置において、セレクタブルワンウェイクラッチを解放状態から係合状態に切り替える場合に、差回転を一旦負にした状態でストラットの第2クラッチ部材側への突出を許容し、ストラットの一部を第2クラッチ部材側へ突出させて第2クラッチ部材に係合させて、セレクタブルワンウェイクラッチを解放状態から係合状態に切り替える。【選択図】図7
