PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maintain control performance for causing an actual turning angle to follow a target turning angle, as much as possible even upon starting, for example, under an environment of relatively low temperature.SOLUTION: A vehicular steering unit comprises: a steering wheel 13 operated for turning the turning wheels 21a, 21b of a vehicle V; a steering angle sensor 41 that detects a steering angle; turning mechanisms 17, 25, 27, 29 having a turning motor 29 and turning the turning wheels 21a, 21b while being mechanically separated from the steering wheel 13; a turning angle sensor 49 that detects a turning angle; a turning torque relative information acquisition part 61 that acquires information relative to a turning torque required for turning the turning wheels 21a, 21b; and a steering angle ratio setting part 63 that sets a steering angle ratio that is the ratio of a turning angle to the steering angle. The steering angle ratio setting part 63 sets the steering angle ratio on the basis of turning torque relative information.
